10 meters seemed to fade out VERY early for me. Normally I can work JA up
until about 7:30 p.m. local time; this weekend, I was losing CA at 4:30 in
the afternoon. 40 sounded like wall-to-wall cats with their tails being
stepped upon (i.e., packet). I just couldn't seem to get anything going on
the low bands. But then what do you expect from 40' high wires on 80/160???
Best ears in the world: K4BAI. If it weren't for John being to read ESP, I
would never get GA on 10 in any contest.
Best station: W6EEN. Absolutely awesome. N6RT knows how to put it to good
use, too. N5KO (@W6NL) and I agreed to move to 160 from 80, and I could
barely hear him on 80. Nil on 160, but then W6EEN came through and pegged
my meter!
A nice contest. It's a relief to work guys who want to cooperate to get the
QSOs in the log, rather than fighting with a mob which NEVER quits braying
calls, even when I'm trying to copy an exchange. (Meaning, most of Europe.)
