Bring out the brooms baby! I'm sure a lot of sweeps in this one- Was somewhat
casual vs. last year- Operating in a wimp fashion- I had 74 sections within the
first 4 hours of the contest- Leaving for church Sunday, I only needed Alaska
and worked a few of them later that day- Ran the ICOM 756 radio, and a
Ameritron 800H for the amp- used Writelog for the first time- fb! for antennas,
I used the 4 sqr for 80 meters, HV2V for 40 meters, and 6 ele log periodic for
10-20 meters- all performed well and the beverages proved very useful in heavy
qrm- I ran most of the time, and only S/P for a couple of mults that later
found me running- so I didn't need to S/P afterall....that said- this was my
first sweep after missing it by 1 or 2 many times, dispite decent scores, due
to parking my butt on a run frequency(s)- Was amazed at working a number of
Wyoming stations- - a few SD and ND too- even ME, DE and RI seemed common
place- nothing seemed rare this time- but I sweated a bit for MAR......- some
impressive Q scores- and was great to see al the newbies on the bands- was very
encouraging- 73 Paul N0AH Wyoming
