This is to certify that phone contests truly suck and, yes, OK,
OK, the near-dxpedition-type run-rates on 10m were fun but the
rest of this one was the usual miserable slog.
A huge thanks once again to Dale, N3BNA, for the loan of his
ever-improving station. A true champ and a gent.
Obviously really Bad Karma in the amplifier department. I
managed to kill no fewer than THREE of them the first evening;
faced with no real alternative and nothing better to do in the
middle of the night (sleep is for sissies, right?) I set about
fixing the one that hadn't geysered smoke (Titan) or issued
excruciating noises (Commander). That effectively did in the
two-radio scene too, but then "real men only use one radio".
Uh-huh. If you insist, sunbeam.
