Commentary:

You really can't say anything about this one without starting with the
propagation! The contest was held during the best propagation I have ever
heard in over 30 years of contesting. So many choices to make. In
retrospect, you just went to the rate and did your best. The only
propagation story I will share is that I still found Europe coming in well
on 40 at 9:00 AM local, which means a 40 meter path of complete
illumination......that's
good stuff!

Did this year's CQWW CW with my friend Art, N2AU, who was just
remarkable. His skills are much fun to see and he seemed to have a good
time also. We found ourselves laughing much, at ourselves, and at having so
much fun. You had to be there!

We were unable to make the needed changes to the station to support MS
operation, so we were burdened with the single op 2 radio setup. Had
problems holding the cluster as clustering in this part of Western NY is
indeed an iffy thing. Only one computer glitch marred an otherwise perfect
hardware weekend. I must find a faster way to key in the callsigns as too
much time is being lost on my part. Found myself becoming mentally fatigued
very early, so MS is definitely the way to go.

Once again, we enjoyed the fray and look forward to the ARRL.

73,

Natan W6XR/2
