What a blast! It was great not to have a 600 mile skip zone and
quiet bands to boot. My first time over 300 qsos. The only mult
I heard but didn't work was VO1XX on 40 meters (N6TV beat me out
- grrrrrr). I was well impressed with my new IC-746 (40/20
meters), used the TS-830S on 80. I just finished up the two
radio switching, but did not do much real two radio operation
since I use the same antenna (PRO-67A) for 20 and 40.
I think the holiday weekend was a positive factor. Might it make
sense to hold this contest on the Saturday night before Labor
Day, even in those years when that would put in on August 30 or
31?
