Comments:
Boy, what a great time! Had a barrel of fun even though excessive
RF in shack toyed with my keyer big time. Could only run 20 watts on
40 and 15, yet still managed to make a few QSOs. The highlight had
to be when I was called by AH6DU with a very nice signal. Really
messed up my off time by forgetting I started an hour late. Oh well.
This was also my best effort as far as rate goes. Managed a "last ten"
of 102 and a "last 100" around 55. The real surprise came on 160.
With only a few minutes left, I decided to go outside and hook up my
160 dipole in the freezing cold. Picked up a quick 20 Qs and 17 mults.
That helped me beat my goal of 40K. By the way, that dipole is only
about 6 feet off the ground. Receives great and I guess it gets out
a little bit. I hope the conditions are as favorable this weekend.
Maybe, just maybe, I can get to 500 Qs. It's really fun to be a small
pistol. The goals are so much more reachable. Thanks to everyone for
a truly wonderful contest.
