high power TUNER for 160 meters. Antenna is a inverted L with insufficient radials. 40-50 vertical approx 60 horizontal. That's the best I can do, my urban lot won't allow any more. pse & tu ________

Sounds like you are describing my system for 160 meters, Firebrick. The only difference being that my vertical section is 60' vs 40-50'. I don't know if its the best, but I bought a used Amertiron AT

No need for tuner. Just insert a coil, about 10 turns bewteen the bottom of the antenna wire and ground (radials). Connect your coax - braid to ground connection and find the tap on the coil for you

I've had excellent luck with the TenTec 238B. When my MT3000A basically fell on its face trying to match some of my 160 meter antenna efforts, I looked around and compared specifications and reviews
