They do equal a larger number of in ground radials when only a few radials are being used. They do not, as some people claim, equal 120 radials on the ground. Four elevated radials often do not even

This isn't necessary. I have a helically-wound vertical surrounded by 54 radials that started out lying on the ground. Over time, they work down in the grass and most of them aren't even visible any
