- Ted, 1) You should be able to do in-band RX with the loops, but at the cost of some sensitivity. Without a preamp, the loops are approx. 15-20 dB down in signal level from a typical Beverage. Be sur

- As long as the metal mast is not grounded it should be OK. I just rebuilt my K9AY loops using an aluminum mast with insulated clamps at the base and a short piece of PVC pipe on top of the metal mast
