Can't help throwing in another 2 cents worth. First,It might only be a few of the rovers doing it, and that is our of many dozens (last I checked there were between 50 and 100 rovers per contest). So

I have enjoyed VHF contesting for 10 years now and have rovered a few of those times. I'm just adding my $.02 because I can see both sides of the rover issue. First, with today's gas prices being wha

Once upon a time, microwave activity was nil. I can understand that in the distant past if a club had microwave equipment but no one to work up there, it made sense to equip others with such gear and

And what exactly is this concept of "wrongness" being based on? 1. Is it in violation of FCC rules-NO 2. Is it in violation of contest rules-NO, if it were they would have been disqualified 3. Is it

Well, I kind of did it once. I worked a station at the corner of 4 grid squares in the Microwave Sprint a few months ago. I then moved into another of the grids and we did it again. I then stayed put

That's easy for you to say when you're not a rover in their division. Take it from someone who is. What they are doing is an unfair manipulation of the rules and the rules need to be changed. I'm ser

Eating someone elses belongings is wrong, and would be considered stealing in the eyes of the law. I know that I can't win my division based on antenna height, size, and number of bands I run, in add

I am still puzzled why the problem with pack-rovering continues to be misunderstood. It is a team of rovers working together. They need to be recognized as a team and therefore not equivalent to a no

I once saw someone fired for doing that. Stealing is wrong - PERIOD. Grid circling, however, under the rules, is not wrong, ethically or otherwise. It DOES belong in its own category, however. Bruce

Guys, The rules do not point out that you cannot run a captive rover. When W7XU here in SD was on the air before the tornado took down his stuff, we used to run the VHF contests with a captive rover
