I just had a conversation this past weekend with Kuni Okuma (W7JV), a well-known Icom repair man, on this very subject this past weekend. Kuni told me that the Motorola finals are no longer available

And, the 144 and 432 MHz TX section uses a different PA section. So if you loose full output on the HF portion of the rig, the radio could still function as a fine all mode 144MHz and 432 MHz radio.
