Ted, The Garmin Etrex provides Maiden Head Grid Squares, six digits no less. This is a small, hand-held unit, and I believe sells for less than $100. I have one, and it works great. Hope this helps.

Ted, if you have an iPhone, there's at least one free app that uses the device's built-in GPS (the one I use is called hamLocator, there are probably others) to give you a constantly updating Maidenh

I know for a fact that the Garmin GPS 60c has Maidenhead coordinates because I was fooling with it at Best Buy this past weekend and set it up to display it.  Nice unit, not cheap!   Tom Hybiske, K3G

There's also "Maidenhead" which was written by a ham's teenage son. Worth buying for a buck, just to support the kid. Not sure if Google Earth for iPhone could do what you're looking for, but it is a
