Sending a unique power like "73" cuts down on dupes. Especially when your call sign is spotted wrong. It's even worse if the station doesn't identify and people depend on that spot to get your call.

That's nice Kelly but in the end most people just want to have fun and right now Sweepstakes isn't on Sunday. That shows with the lack of activity on Sunday. I can't think of another all-band contest
