Being fairly new to 160, there is something I noticed that I have not seen mentioned previously. After fall equinox a few days ago, the low bands have gotten a lot quieter and a lot better. Just work

The only thing I would add is that EVEY DXpedition starts off with high hopes of being one for the record books. Lots of QSO's on every band, most CW QSOs, most SSB QSO's, and on and on. I don't thin

That is only part of it. I read somewhere (ON4UN's book?) that signals can leak from darkness (night) into daylight (sunset) areas. However, getting the angle right from the daylight area to ENTER da

Is LOTW a bit of a pain? Sure. The process could be easier, but it is what it is. I find I also send a lot fewer QSL cards these days, as LOTW takes care of a lot of the QSLs I require. I do QSL 100%

I am not sure when this whole business of strength being an S-meter reading, but it does not seem appropriate - especially on 160. Besides, there is no "10" or "20" on the RST scale as some folks try

The inverted L is not a complicated antenna to build. What I did was take around 135 feet of wire. Center conductor from a piece of coax connects to this. Sheild connects to the base of my tower. I a
