or be it lead I would watch out for the losses in the feedline. RG-174 has almost 2db per 100 feet at a 1:1 SWR. Much too high. This is why using a pair of wires or open wire line is a better choice.

Connecting both shields together on the transmitter end should do nothing ... good or bad. The impedence of the coax shield is so high that there will be no effect on the ground/radial system. John K
