Does some one know what's the reason Yaesu choose to calibrate their HF rigs S-meters with 250uV/50 Ohms for a S-9 reading ( FT-990, FT-1000D, FT-1000MP and FT-920 ) ? Morel, 4X1AD -- FAQ on WWW: htt

I dont think that is correct. I'm pretty sure it's 50 uV...at least on the 1000MP. That's what I derived from my service manual. They say it's 100dbu for full scale which means S9 is 40 dbu which con

Ty, Many thanks for reply and info. It's simply not clear for me: if you need 100dBu for S-9+40 ( by the way this is the MP full scale or S-9 + 60 ?) so, for S-9 you need 60dBu ( 30uV )? 73 de Morel,

The MP is full scale at S9 + 60 DB, which Yaesu sets for +100dbu. That would make S9 a +40dbu, which tranlates to 50 microvolts on a 50 ohm sig. gen. --Original Message-- From: Morel Grunberg <morel.

Could someone please explain this ???? It is my job to know things about dBu, dBm, uV, etc, but this conversion is totally unclear to me! Isn't it dBu = 20log(U/1uV) ? where: U is expressed in volts,
