- Bill, I have heard nothing of the 847 being dual/multiple VFO's. If it were so, I'm sure we would have heard much publicity over that, not to mention crossband repeating and all the other "VHF & UHF"

- Bill, The batteries are just fine(and I know batteries!). It is a problem of radio voltage regulator design. I don't know about all the Yeasu's, but the FT-530 gets WARM JUST RECEIVING, not to mentio
