I haven't noticed that problem with mine. I believe the AGC time constants are fixed, though perhaps modedependent. Note that the S-meter only responds to the main receiver, even when you are listen

My FT-1000D seems to hear CW intermodulation products whenever a band is full of moderately strong signals. Yet the measured third-order intercept is normal (and very high). Also, inserting attenuati

Thanks to all who responded. Sorry I didn't think to point out that, yes, the noise blanker was off. I made some more measurements last night, and it looks like the problem may be high order spurious

Here's something I wrote last February, which may be helpful: -- After many contests with the venerable TS-930, ARRL CW was my first with the FT-1000D. Here are a few observations. Configuration: The

That's possible, but I'm not sure it explains how the strength of the spur varies linearly with the input signal strength. Perhaps the AGC maintains a constant signal level at the stage generating t

Unlike some other rigs, you can't just step on the foot switch when sending in QSK mode, because it also closes the keying line. Has anyone found a simple way to fix this? Scott K9MA sellington@ssec.

Thanks to all who responded to my original message on this subject. Chip Margelli, K7JA, Yaesu Engineering/R&D, is looking into the matter. I'll post any information I get from him. By the way, Chip'
