Hi I just moved to a windows 7 machine and am using a Trendnet TU-s9 usb to serial adapter. I works ok with both Win-Eqf and HRD but not with Writelog. I tried a lot of different port settings but to

Been there, done that, got the T-shirt. I have heard that some adapters work, but the only way I found was to install a PCI serial port card. Easy to do, and cheap on ebay. I put in a 2-port card. So

Sounds like the Trendnet adapter uses the Prolific chipset which is known to have defective drivers with Windows 7. I suggest you look for updated drivers as the latest drivers are reported to resolv

Howie, I went through the same problem with a laptop this summer when trying to get ready for the IOTA contest. I tried two different adapters and both failed. I ended up using a different program to

FTDI is a chip house - many of OEMs use the FTDI chip set. The chipset is generally given in the specification (read the fine print <G>). One vendor I know of that specifies the chip set is Byterunne
