When I launch the program, a tone is transmitted to the rig and come out through the speakers, or through the earphones if they are plugged in. This tone remains constant and is around 800hz or so. I

May not be Writelog itself sending the tone. What happens here is that Writelog keys a port on startup and what is happening is it keys the rig itself. Therefore the tone is the rig's sidetone monito

Try changing modes within the app to see if that affects the symptom and review your settings. How are you controlling cw-rtty to the rig? USB, serial or analog? _____________________________________
