Steve, No good here either... USB-Serial adaptors seem OK for Rig Control though, but not much good for anything else... I wonder if anyone out there knows a supplier of Com Ports that are XP compati

I'm using Socket serial ports for FSK and rig control in Sony, IBM, Toshiba and Twinhead laptops, and in a Gateway All-in-one computer. They seem to work fine, under W98, at least. I have one single

One idea regarding USB and serial connections: I realise that most new laptops have USB, may not have any serial, could have firewire or even Ethernet and usually have PCMCIA slots. I'm not aware of
