Bob, You must go into Windows Control Panel and set Time/Date using "(GMT) Casablanca, Monrovia". This is the GMT setting that ignores daylight savings time, which is what is causing your 1 hour erro

Frank, The CT-17 contains a chip that handles the RS-232 level conversion. I had a CT-17 that too was hit by lightning. I bought a replacement chip and replaced it myself. I don't recall the part nr.
