I tried dueling CQs for 6M and 2M during the VHF contest. 6m was totally quiet when 2m was transmitting, but 2m had S9 white noise when 6m was transmitting. Antennas are 130 feet apart. Happens with

Hi Chuck. I have recently started using a filter between my 2M radio and the antenna when I run my 6M and 2M roving antennas on the same mast. It seemed to improve matters considerably. That being sa

Maybe wideband noise or overload from the 3rd harmonic of the 6m rig.  I had a similar problem, but not as bad, I built a lowpass filter for the 6m transmitter and the problem vanished.-Mike-WA6ZTY O

I have the opposite problem. When I TX on 2, it overloads and quiets the 6M radio. I have a 2M stub filter on the 6M receive line for other purposes, which probably gives me 10-15 dB of extra rejecti

The third harmonic of 50.313 is 150.939, there is probably enough energy to cause problems. A good LPF on the 6m station might help and a good bandpass filter on 2m should help. A brute force method

I suppose each situation is different. During this contest I tried using a 54 MHz and down low pass filter (between my amp and antenna) when roving but I took it out as I could not detect it making a

Most mornings, I listen to a group on 432.090, while I am transmitting legal limit FT8, on 144.174. The two antennas are on the same mast, about 8' apart. I have few problems. What I have heard, sinc

Hi Chuck, I use a Comet CF-530 splitter's 1.3 -90 MHz port in front of my 6M transceiver with a small 50 ohm dummy load on the unused higher freq output. On 2M I was using a nice OCI bandpass filter.
