FT8 for contesting this weekend has been a bad joke. Remember this when the band is open... Herb, if you DON"T use contest mode and guys call you with TX2, which is increasingly the way it is, you wi

If you answer their CQ, they gave their grid in their CQ. You answer with your grid, and both grids have been exchanged. 73 John AF5CC _______________________________________________ VHFcontesting ma

HI everyone...but if they answer YOUR CQ, they most likely will answer with Tx2, which does NOT contain their grid.  This is why things get really screwed up and why the contest mode needs to be used

Hi Marshall, Even though I agree with you, the problem on 313 is that not everyone, perhaps even most stations, are not in the contest. Folks just want to work DX or make casual contacts. Perhaps the

Alex, My experience was similar to yours. I tried to stick to CM but had to switch frequently. CQ WW was no help. I ended up doing what ever it took to make the QSO. Robie - AJ4F ____________________

Most people on 313 probably didn't even realize there was a contest, they just saw a bunch of spots and assumed the band was open. CQ WW VHF doesn't have the sort of awareness that the ARRL contests

^^^ THIS, I believe, is a big part of this weekends problem. The only reason I can think this is the case is that 6M is overrun (yes, a strong word, but it's kind of true) by HF-centric op's who swoo
