On my amp that was converted to operate on 2 meters there is a wire that is attached to the 50 volt rail near the power connector that runs to the swr board. I believe they add protection in case of

Dave's account is spot on. I didn't remove the high current 50V to the FETs during receive, I just removed the bias which is what the protection board seems to do if high SWR is encountered. Since FE
