Doing just a quick on line price check, the Elecraft XV222 is $369.00 as a kit, the DEMI as a kit is $295 and $395.00 fully assembled. I chose to spend the additional $26.00 for a pre assembled DEMI.

BTW, even if you do get the chance to operate with a transverter, I would still go with the HT and a good antenna for FM. There are stations in this area at least who have FM capability but not SSB,

Hi Les, If you just ordered your DEMI 222 transverter, you definitely will NOT have it for August UHF or September VHF, and most likely not even for the January 2009 VHF contest. Iv'e had mine on ord
