- Very interesting discussion. When I put my lightning bolt quad up, I was concerned with their system of simply tying all loops together at a common feedpoint. I went so far as to talk with Cebik abou

- Jim, My models show that a 2 wl square loop will have a feed Z of around 270-300 ohms. This is the case for a single loop and also for a concentric loop around a 1 wl loop with both fed in phase from

- I am about to start work on re-installing my Lightning Bolt 2 element quad. Since we were granted access to 10, 18 and 24MHz I have decided to add these bands back on to the spreaders but I am mindfu

- Hello Martin, One sure way to break any common connection to the other elements is to use a line isolator/ 1:1 in line with each elements feed line. There is NO common ground connection at that point

- The connundrum here is that words and phrases are being tossed around without an understanding of their meaning. At least one product sold as a ine isolator is nothing more than a common mode choke,

- I used gamma matchs and 1:1 baluns made up of solenoid wound coax for each band. This arrangement allowed me to use horizontal AND vertical feedpoints on the TEN Meter driven loop and obtain 20dB iso

- I'm not familiar with a 'line isolator' but on hearing the term I would surmise it to be equivalent to a common mode choke. Certainly a common mode choke at the feed point will provide the required p
