As a retired licensed masonry contractor, let me tell you there is a right way and a wrong way. Here is the right way. Rent a combo drill/rotor hammer with long enough bits to reach through the wall.

Bill's description is very close to the method I use, except I simply use a 5/8" drill and concrete bits from Home Depot. The largest they sell will allow you to pass a PL259 shell through the hole.
