I always like the way a local tower installer's 120VAC capstan winch worked, but always thought it was death or serious injury waiting to happen because he bolted it right to the tower below the work

All the capstans I've seen (on boats and service vehicles) didn't have any sort of rope guides around them. Just the capstan sticking out there. Maybe there's a tangle/jam hazard? If you want to rap
