Kelly, n6kj, is looking for a way to swivel his 2el/40m to vertical so he can work on it without having to drop........errrr, lower it from the tower. Kelly, If my ageing memory serves me correctly,

I can picture this in my mind, but isn't that a lot of stress to put on the u-bolt and mast since you now have the entire weight of the antenna pulling down on the "boom section" with no counter-weig

Kelly..... I found pictures of the mount in the 20th ed of the ARRL Antenna book. It appears that the way it was built was STRONG!!! Might be worth finding a copy of the book and look at the pictures

Thanks. The IIX mount would do the trick. Now I have to figure out how I would get this up there. K7LXC got this yagi up on the top of the mast the first time :-) ____________________________________
