- When I took my "new" tower down at the ex-owner's QTH, I discovered the TB was not a bearing at all, but more of a bushing. The top is a steel collar and the bottom has a bronze insert for the collar

- I believe this type of bearing is self-lubricating and requires no additional lubricant. In fact, use of additional lubricant risks deposition of dirt resulting in increased friction, increased wear
