To each his own, but I've been pinning my masts to my rotators (Hy-Gain and Yaesu) for 30 years and never experienced a rotator failure. And, of course, I've never had to worry about antennas slippin

Yaesu recommends pinning and even includes the bolt. I don't think realigning antennas should be normal maintenance and it's certainly something I wouldn't want to do every time there's a strong wind
