Anyone have info on the feasibility of sidemounting (probably fixed, but maybe rotated if practical) an F12 C4XL at the 30-35' level on a T500 72' Trylon? The top would have another C4XL on a rotator

This mount is made to mount parabolas and the like. A swinging gate would not have but a few degrees more than 180 movement about the axis. OK if that is what you need. 73, Guy To: <towertalk@contest

I think that a W7IN-style swinging gate located at one of the corners would work fine and provide close to 300 degrees of rotation if the horizontal arm is made long enough to reach beyond the tower

Need to remember that the Trylon corners are not exactly vertical (go in inch and a half each section). Also the vertical pieces are 120 degree rounded corner channel material, not tubes as on Rohn 2

You can get around the Channel material problem by finding a piece of pipe that will fit inside the channel nicely and clamp around the pipe and the leg. This will prevent the channel from collapsing

NO, NO, NO... The channel then would be no stronger than the pipe, and maybe not even that. And you would have set a pre-stressed bend giving a collapse the place to start where you drew the metal in

inch Slight clarifications: the sections taper 3-inches per section and the legs are 60 degree angle. The important point being that the legs are not round. forces the It's really easier than that. T
