- Yes. But this is 20-20 hindsight: First, wrap the connection with Scotch 88, turned with sticky side out. Next apply seal. I use Scotch 2228. Finally, wrap with Scotch 88 in normal manner. Then to re

- Probably not. A while back I purchased some used connectors for 1 5/8 Heliax and on a few of them someone had wrapped the butyl right on the connector instead of taping it first. I used lacquer thinn
