Sorry about this but it may affect many of us eventually. Yesterday I went for a stress test and got some bad results. I have a left bundle block and they want to me to have a pacemaker implanted ASA

You may want to contact Medtronic in the Minneapolis, Mn area. I think they have their own EMC lab in which they would have tested their units per the Medical Device Directive which requires radiated

Interesting topic. I have a family member that has a pacemaker and one of the concerns I had of course, could I continue to play radio - KW's multi transmitter, etc. In a controlled experiment, I had

No surprise at all. First, pacemakers are a mature technology, and there are many potential RFI sources in the public environment, not the least of which are cell phones, often in very close proximit

I'm running a Medtronic unit and I don't even know it's there except for the little bump on my chest. I run 1.5 kw most mornings on 80 and 40 M CW. My Butternut HF-2V is about 75 feet from the shack.

It all depends. I have a defib with a pacemaker back-up. The only restriction was no cell phones in my shirt pocket. I can arc weld and run the legal limit on any band. It's been so long that I've fo

It would seem to me that strong EM signals, that might cause glitches in a pacemaker are a square law issue. Since most of us don't want our stations to emit RF into the shack environment, well-match

Roger, you should run the welding leads twisted together to form a twisted pair as much as possible. Bring the leads to the weld site from in front of you not past you to the site. Clamp the ground c

I have had a pacemaker for about 2 years now. I have had it checked, with no problems. I run full legal limit on HF most of the time, and operate 2M and Cell phone with no issues.. about 10 years ago
