- If you're referring to installing Preformed grips around insulators, I think the factory would DISCOURAGE you from performing the above operation. There are two crossover marks on Preform grips. The

- Let me just amplify what Steve has said. Preforms are made from a very hard grade of steel which is very brittle. Hammering on them could easily make hairline cracks that could cause them to fail at
