- I'm sure some will disagree, but I would feel safe with a torch too, if only it worked! Lacking a proper striker when I did my first one, I attempted everything I could think of, including the torch.

- I have been using a bic candle lighter. They are about 8" long and only cost a couple of bucks at Walmart. It has a small flame which doesn't blow the igniter material. I wear leather welding gloves,
