Far easier to use a post hole digger and install a 8 foot treated 4x4 a couple of feet into the ground and then use strap to secure the mast.  Or just leave a couple of feet out of the ground and put

Free standing? If not, I would drive something into the ground with slightly less diameter than the inside diameter of the mast and telescope the mast over the driven stake. Then it wont move at the
