Just guessing here, but a coil loaded Moxon might work. It probably wouldn't provide a lot more gain, but if it worked it would have a much improved pattern. Moxons rely on coupling between the folde

Have you considered taking the alligator approach with improved ears? Stay with your dipole and QRO if you can't be heard. Invest in the best, small, directional receive only antenna that your budget
