All: I have a flat-top doublet approximately 100 feet long with it's apex 30 feet above the ground. It's fed with 300 ohm ladder line. I also have a 20 meter, 5 element mono-band Yagi that's twice as

It would be interesting to know if the signal strength on the doublet changes when you rotate the Yagi. -Mike-WA6ZTY From: Tony <dxdx@optonline.net> To: towertalk@contesting.com Sent: Wednesday, Marc

What do you mean when you say "doublet?" Do you mean a dipole? ANY antenna operated on a frequency higher than its resonant frequency will have lobes and nulls. In the lobes, the gain may be greater

Mike: That's a good suggestion. I'll give it a try and report back if there's any interaction. Thank you. Tony From: Tony <dxdx@optonline.net> To: towertalk@contesting.com Sent: Wednesday, March 2, 2

Tony, At what distance did you compare the 2 antennas. If the doublet is a "flat-top", what do you mean by its "apex"? A 100 foot center fed dipole 30 feet above "average" ground on 20M will have 2 n
