If you own the X7 and possibly the X9, you will find that the antenna matches nicely on 40m without the 40m add on option. On the basic X7 without a tuner I have an SWR of 1.7/1 at the low end of 40m

My X9 is 14 feet under a 40-2CD and I can offer some observations as well. The vswr at 7.0 is 3:1. It nulls to 1:1 at 7.8 MHz. It has many nulls between 7 and 14 MHz that go down to 1.2 or so. As a r

I have also noted that the X9 is louder on 40 m than any other tribander or yagi on receive that I have owned. I would suspect this is related to it's log cell. I do not remember trying to listen on
