My 2 el. 40 has been up since about 1997-ish. Right at the start I made the Dave Leeson (W6NL) high wind modifications. In mid-2016 the beam was off the tower and mechanically checked (thanks K7NV).

My 40-2CD has all of the capacity hats in place. It is also reinforced like yours. My Rig Expert Scans on this antenna at its height on my tower of around 80ft show it to be below 1.5:1 between about

My 40-2cd was an early version and the capacity hats were not very secure. I got the new hats from Cushcraft (before MFJ and have had no problem. I just refurbished mine and I set it mid band and my
