I use the Weller 260w gun with the braid pretinned and then cut the braid square with a small tubing cutter, sharp box cutter and trim with small flush diagonals. It takes some time to get the barrel

Surely you wouldn't need such a high capacity iron if you didn't slobber on the connector? Or is it that the tip is water cooled and when it leaks the iron is said to slober? 73, Jim VE7FO -- Origina
