And be sure you don't get shavings into the computer when you are filing. It is a good idea to cover stuff up in the comnputer before you start filing. Metal shavings can raise havoc in the computer!

If your verticals were 40 db down, you had something BAD wrong. According to ON4UN's Low Band DX'ing, 2 phased verticals can give from 3 to 4 db gain. What was the KLM, 6 or 7 db. Where is the 40 DB?
