I have been watching this discussion with a lot of interest. The interest being, what is the power loss at 30 MHz for a 100' run of 1/2" vs 1 5/8" hardline? Turns out it is ~82 W. This is for LDFX-5
Anybody hear anything? -- Ciao baby, catch you on the flip side. GEO http://www.w3ab.org "There's a fine line between genius and insanity. I have erased this line." - Oscar Levant ________
Alas, that is not true. Gain is reciprocal on antennas. http://www.ece.rutgers.edu/~orfanidi/ewa/ alligator - all mouth and no ears. -- Ciao baby, catch you on the flip side. GEO http://ww
As pointed out by others here, we put up many antennas and used cheap, err inexpensive, gear and made lots of contacts and we didn't know our set-ups wouldn't work. Now we know they won't work. Why?
Excellent Matt, I would like to add that you drive a 16p nail through the board and locate the mast over that. Then the mast won't slip off of the board. Don't ask me how I know that. -- Ciao bab
Battery, battery box, solar panel and controller out in the area where your tower(s) are will eliminate that pair of conductors. -- Ciao baby, catch you on the flip side. GEO http://www.w3ab.or
I've used a tow truck for unloading as well as getting towers to the base. Not only do they have a small crane, they often have a number of winches that come in handy as well. -- Ciao baby, catch
