That could be the source of the higher than normal SWR on 12. The factory specs are for "~3.2" with 100 feet of RG-213, although I run 70' of RG-213, connected to 50' of 7/8" Heliax and get around 5:

I'll give that a try! I'm still thinking about some arrangement of using a relay to switch in an appropriate matching component. I wonder if anyone knows what the R/X values are at 12 meters? Ron N6A

I measured 400 - 500 ohms on 12 meters at the main feed. The 40 meter section showed 10 ohms and the 75 meter F-12 rotatable dipole was 30 ohms. Measurements were made with an older MFJ 259, so I don
