As the subject says, I am looking for one 'old style' Rohn 25 guy bracket with torque bars GB25/TB25. Anyone have one to part with? Thanks, Paul N1BUG _______________________________________________

Interesting. I have been following this thread. I am in the process of installing some 25G which was formerly used as an AM BC tower. As such it had a good number of 502 insulators in the 3/16" guys.

Doug, Good luck with whatever you decide to do. While I totally agree the best approach is to cut down all trees or big branches that could fall on a guy wire, it ain't a happening thing here! Ditto

FWIW I have had some of those push-on PL259 adapters in service for 25 years and have yet to experience a problem at HF. I have run 1500 watts through them for extended periods CW/SSB. I like to use

A relatively small tree fell on the lower end of one set of guys on the 100' tower. The only damage seems to be a bent turnbuckle. A *big* tree that was standing about 10' from a guy anchor for the 8

Tonno, I have tried hanging my Beverages the way you suggest and also without any such loops. I could see no difference in performance. But, I had more problems with broken Beverages when it was loop

I recently purchased an MFJ-1026 in an effort to fight power line noise. It takes a little while to get used to adjusting the controls, but the unit does an amazing job of nulling a single noise. If

For buried radials I expect the soil type has much to do with how long galvanized wire lasts. I'm certain not all galvanized wire is created equal. I recently cleaned up an area where some stuff had

Are these big enough to handle adhesive lined heat shrink in sizes of 1.5" or so? I often find myself using that stuff on large diameter cables. I've been using a propane torch which works but you ha

Here's another (maybe stupid) question... I have a 25G tower with the bottom section partially embedded in concrete. Problem is the concrete was poured with the top only about an inch above ground. T

Thanks to all who replied to my question! Every reply is greatly appreciated. There were many direct as well as on the list. Several suggested my base must be moving if I'm having seasonal problems.

I didn't see any responses on list but you probably got your answer. I think the consensus in the past was it is not recommended. I went through a phase some years ago where I would fill UHF connecto

I rarely listen on 75 as I'm not much of an SSB operator... but I've heard 7J4AAL booming in many times this past winter. He is usually around 3.800 and is the loudest JA I have ever heard on 80/75.

One year at our club Field Day operation we made one with wires for 160/80/40/20/15/10. Theoretically the 40 would have taken care of 15 also, but we were having fun adding wires! :) I think we used

I second that. I have used that method on three Rohn 25 towers guyed with 3/16 EHS - one 80 footer and two 100 footers. No come-along was necessary. I found I could easily pull it tight enough by ha

No. The tower will be grounded by a copper straps, one from each leg, running out at least 50 feet (probably closer to 75 feet) with 8 foot ground rods spaced every 16 feet along them. As I understan

Yes and no. In my case the insulators breaking up the wires are more to allow shunt feeding the tower for low bands. But lightning will most likely ignore a few paltry 2 or 3 inch gaps at the insulat
