Jim, I saw Amphenol brand "T" connectors at Central States VHF Conference last month and they were being sold by Tesco (Test Eqpt Service), 214-503-6672, tescoeqpt@home.com Mel, k0pfx Weather Station
I used the backhoe just as described below to fill a 4x4x8ft hole with concrete and it worked out just fine. Mel, k0pfx a truck large quite tower taken the don't that discussed concrete "Wireless any
I am looking for a lubricant for the steel cables (rope) as used on a 72' US Tower's winch. I have heard pros and cons on lubing these cables. However, I understand there is a special lube made for t
I use Pre-Lube 6 on the winch of a US Tower. The lube does not attract foreign material and lubes the inner strands as well. The lube is in a spray can and easy to apply. I believe the military uses
One or more cameras with mics will allow you to monitor the tower as it is lowered and rasied. There are a number of B&W and Color cameras available with audio that withstand harsh wx conditions. I b
See http://www.timesmicrowave.com/ (the manufacturer) for more info. For its size, it is low loss and light. Stranded, flexible type available "UF" suffix. Outperforms most others of the RG-8 type. L
If this means anything, the construction of the "reel" appears to be the exact same as the one I received from Times Microwave last year. Also, many "WiFi" companies (like this one) sell LMR type 400
...exactly, Mel, K0PFX I've seen this done using spray Rustoleum, which looked bad. I'd think maybe clear Krylon is what F12 has in mind. 73, Pete N4ZR website balun installed connectors - permanent
I am using a larger prop pitch rotator with a M2 RC2800P-A controller and Mike's reed switch conversion kit for sending the digital pulses. For several days, the rotor was operating intermittently..
I use DXView and it works quite well. I think LOGGER32 may work, but docs show M2 28000 (?) so have not tried it. Mel, K0PFX _______________________________________________ See: http://www.mscomputer
I agree Bill, something is wrong. My experience has been just the opposite with 8 LMR400UF cables making up the rotator loop for HF and VHF/UHF antennas. These have been in use 3 years. I've seen no

A synthetic lube is probably the best, but an expensive alternative. Hub City's gear reducers (as used on US Towers) recommends thier p/n 8-58-00-01-011 which I believe is Exxon-Mobile's SHC634 synth

One can easily does my 72ft US Tower a couple times. I lube every 6 months. I use a home-made "lube catcher" to avoid overspary loss. I don't recall how many feet long the tower cables are. Mel, K0PF
Lube Catcher is Tom, N0SS's, invention. No patents pending, yet :-) Yes, I have put pictures and drawing on my toilet paper style website www.melwhitten.com I'll leave the lube catcher on there for a
