I use a shaft collar on the mast just above the thrust bearing. That way there is no weight on the rotor. 73, Les VE3NNT Sent from my Bell Samsung device over Canada's largest network. -- Original me

I have 2 large Yagis attached to a 3 inch OD ¼ inch wall thickness Chromoly mast running down the tower to a ProSisTel PST-71D. On a windy day, I hear creaking sounds from the tower. The mast is slip

Thanks for all the advice guys. I think I'll start with replacing the SS M8 bolts with 3/8 inch grade 8 bolts (or grade 9 or 10?) to see if that solves the problem. If it doesn't, I'll have to try th

I was wondering about the size of the holes in the rotor mast clamp. I didn't measure them to see if there was any slop. I know that 3/8 inch is a little larger than M8. I was worried though that a 5

Dale, Most rotor controllers have an offset for true north vs magnetic north. Why don't you just adjust this parameter? 73, Les VE3NNT I just replaced my rotor (with a HAM-IV) on the bottom of my US

John, I don't understand why you think it isn't right. The magnetic north offset is a fixed offset for a given location. If your correct offset is let's say 10 degrees and you have a misaligned anten

Ok, I think I understand the issue. There are differences between the various controllers and rotators. In my particular case, I have a rotator that has no limits and a controller with no limits, so

Hi guys, Last year, I reported mast slippage with my PST-71D clamshell mast clamp. Well, after replacing the clamshell clamp with the nice K7NV 3 inch mast clamp, no more mast slippage. However, the

Hi Dave, It's not the torsional twist on the mast. I was up the tower when the wind was blowing and saw the small movement back and forth on the rotator plate itself. Since this noise started after r

Rich, I started using the Rotator Genius when the potentiometer in the rotator started to act up. It works fairly well. You have to be careful in setting the voltage options. It uses PWM to modulated
