I just checked Amazon.com and they have this book available. The only problem is that's it listed at $80. It would be nice to have, however. 73, Stew K3ND ____________________________________________

Well, I've done it in the past on 80M. I had the antenna (installed inverted-Vee style) with one pair of wires cut for 3795Khz and another pair, oriented at right angles to the first, cut for 3510Khz
Check out the following website: http://www.lightningrods.com/catalog1_rods.html About half way down the page it lists a copper plate for this purpose. This site also has lots of other useful lightni

All the lightning damage I've ever had to coax cables was pretty easy to find. It blew the cable apart in several places! 73, Stew K3ND _______________________________________________ _______________
Here's some pix of KC1XX & Co. installing Paul's 80M 3 over 3. I guess his businesses are doing well! http://www.xxtowers.com/customers/NO8D_photos.php 73, Stew K3ND _________________________________
I currently rebuilding a Hygain 14AVQ 10-40M vertical. My thinking is that I'd like to install this someplace on the property to use as a "go to" antenna when the main antennas are pointed to EU. As
How do you rotate a wire end down, like taking a horizontal dipole and configuring it as a sloper? In the WIRES menu, I'm telling it to rotate -45 deg in the Z (height) axis. I thought that should lo
I just check this out on the Inet. That is really a well designed harness for tower work! http://www.fallprotectionusa.com/DBIHarness/NEX/1113127_exofit_nex_harness.html 73, Stew K3ND _______________
I agree with Gary on this. Some time ago, I had my coax cables installed on the inside of the tower. This is fine until you have to replace one of them. I found it a huge PITA to remove the run that
I'll add my comments which agree with the others advising you NOT to mount the relay box 80ft up the tower. I had to climb my tower once at dusk during the CQWW CW contest to swap out a failed relay
I have birds sitting on my antennas all the time and they have done so for years with no damage done. They always take off well before I get near the base of the tower so I've never been "dumped on"
My Prop Pitch rotator takes about 90 seconds to go end-to-end. It's a bit slow for DX contesting but I'm used to it. I'm planning to install another tribander pointed S/SE. That way during the day (a

It sounds to me like the value of the copper was greatly inflated, maybe for insurance purposes! It would take a bunch of big trucks to carry $1M of copper, unless maybe it was in ingot form. 73, K3N
I also think you would have problems. Some years ago we tried a 5el 15M about 8ft above a 2el 40 (full length elements). The 40 worked fine but the 5el 15 was almost useless - higher VSWR, gain & FB
As K4WJ pointed out the 3.5mhz to 14mhz is actually 4X (not 3X) in frequency. That's what I get for too much multi-tasking! 73, Stew... _______________________________________________ _______________
